COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO YWCA OF HAWAII ISLAND TO REPAIR ITS FORENSIC CAMERA USED FOR ITS SEXUAL ASSAULT SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the YWCA of Hawaii Island is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all; and WHEREAS, the YWCA of Hawaii Island - Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) is an Island wide program that assists the Hawaii Police Department with gathering critical photo forensic evidence of victims when an assault occurs; and WHEREAS, the YMCA of Hawaii Island is requesting funds to repair its forensic camera that is utilized for its SASS program in Kona; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to YWCA of Hawaii Island to repair its forensic camera used for its Sexual Assault Support Services program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
