ARBORIST ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />Purpose: To advise the Mayor and Council on matters relating to the <br />designation and safeguarding of exceptional trees in the County <br />of Hawaii. <br />Authority: Hawaii County Code, Section 14-58 (in conjunction with Hawaii <br />Revised Statutes, Section 58-2). <br />Appointment: Mayor, no confirmation required. Members are co -terminous <br />with the Mayor. <br />Full Membership: Six members, including the Planning Director or his designee. <br />Specific Representation: None required. <br />Requirements: One member must be actively employed in the practice of <br />landscape architecture and no less than three others must be <br />selected on the basis of active participation in community <br />beautification or research programs or organizations involved in <br />the ecological sciences, including ethnobotany or Hawaiiana. <br />Meetings: <br />Financial Disclosure <br />Reappointment: <br />Qualities: <br />Current Members: <br />Secretary/Contact Person: <br />Attorney Assigned: <br />No specific requirement. <br />Not required. <br />Per Mayor's discretion. <br />Respected by the community as being community -minded and <br />oriented.
