<br />ARBORIST ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />(updated April 2019) <br /> <br />To advise the Mayor and Council on matters relating to the <br />Purpose: <br /> designation and safeguarding of exceptional trees in the County <br /> <br />of Hawaii. <br /> <br /> <br />Authority: Hawaii County Code, Sections14-58 and 14-59 (in conjunction <br /> with Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 58-2). <br /> <br />Appointment: Mayor, no confirmation required. Members are co-terminous <br /> with the Mayor. <br /> <br />Full Membership: six members, including the Planning Director or his designee <br />none required. <br />Specific Representation: <br />One member must be actively employed in the practice of <br />Requirements: <br />landscape architecture and no less than three others must be <br />selected on the basis of active participation in community <br /> <br />beautification or research programs or organizations involved in <br /> <br />the ecological sciences, including ethnobotany or Hawaiiana. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting frequency: no specific requirement <br /> <br />Financial Disclosure: <br />not required to submit <br />per Mayor's discretion. <br />Reappointment: <br /> <br />Qualities: Respected by the community as being community-minded and <br />oriented.
