<br />ENERGY ADVISORY COMMISSION <br /> <br />3/16/2018 <br /> <br />Purpose: <br /> <br />The purpose of the Hawaii Energy Advisory Commission typically is to advise the Mayor on <br />strategies, initiatives and sustainable energy programs that preserve the County’s leadership in <br />renewable energy while promoting the economic health of Hawaii County. The Commission <br />may also provide advice on the implementation of the Energy Sustainability Program. Guidance <br />may focus on establishment of policies relating to the implementation of energy sustainability in <br />transportation, electricity generation, distributed generation, research & development, education <br />& information dissemination, and advocacy for the preferred energy plans for the island of <br />Hawaii. <br /> <br />Authority: <br />Hawaii County Charter, Section 4-4. <br /> <br />Appointment: <br />Mayor, no confirmation required. Members are co -terminus with the Mayor. <br /> <br />Full Membership: TBD <br /> <br />Specific Representation: None required. <br />Requirements: None. <br />Meetings: No specific requirement. <br />Financial Disclosure: Not required. <br />Reappointment: Per Mayor's discretion. <br /> <br />Qualities: Respected by the community as being community-minded and oriented.
