Normal five year staggered terms. <br />Twelve members. <br />Hawaii Island Veterans Affairs Advisor, Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Must have one representative from each of the following organization: American <br />Legion, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association, Big Island Retired <br />Military Association, Disabled American Veterans, Hawaii Island Veterans <br />Memorial, Inc., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Military Order of the Purple Heart, <br />Korean War Veterans Organization, Camp Tawara Detachment #1255 of the <br />Marine Corps League, Navy League of the United States, and the Combat <br />Infantrymen's Association. <br />No specific requirement. <br />Meetings are usually held at the County Building — Puna Conference Room in <br />Hilo and videoconference held at the West Hawaii Civic Center. <br />Not required. <br />Members shall be eligible to succeed themselves for an additional term, provided <br />that no member shall serve on the committee for more than two consecutive <br />terms. <br />Respected by the community and by veterans as being community -minded and <br />oriented.
