<br /> <br />SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMISSION FACT SHEET* <br /> <br />Purpose: To provide the 10-year update of the County of Hawaiʻi’s Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWMP) as required by Hawaiʻi <br />Revised Statutes Chapter 342G <br /> <br />Authority: Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes Chapter 342G, Part III. <br />Hawaiʻi County Charter Section 13-4. <br /> <br />Appointment: By mayor. <br /> <br />Full membership: None specified per HRS § 342G-22. <br /> <br />Specific representation: None specified. <br /> <br />Requirements: The Committee may be composed of representatives from citizen organizations, industry, the private solid waste industry operating <br />within the County, the private recycling or scrap material processing industry operating within the County, the County coordinator, and any <br />other persons deemed appropriate by the Mayor. The Committee shall review the integrated solid waste management plan during its <br />preparation, make suggestions, and propose any changes it believes are appropriate. <br /> <br />Meetiings: The Committee has agreed that the regular meeting schedule is the second Wednesday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., or at <br />another date, time, and place as specified by the Committee. <br /> <br />Financial disclosures: Not required. <br /> <br />Reappointment: Not applicable. <br /> <br />Qualities: Respected by the community as being community-minded and oriented.
