. n �t�Jid <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +T•�E Of jiA�•-, <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> '700 20 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MEMBERS OF THE HAWAII COUNTY <br /> COUNCIL TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF FEDERAL CORONAVIRUS AID, <br /> RELIEF,AND ECONOMIC SECURITY (CARES) ACT FUNDING TOWARDS <br /> PROGRAMS/PROJECTS IN RELATION TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE <br /> ISLAND OF HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS,the State Legislature passed SB75 as Act 8 of 2020 appropriating <br /> $80,009,671 in federal funds from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security <br /> (CARES)Act, Public Law 116-136, to the County of Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, of that appropriation, each County of Hawai`i Council Member shall be <br /> allotted $100,000 of CARES Act funds to be designated, with the Department of Finance, for <br /> programs/projects in relation to the public health emergency with respect to the coronavirus <br /> (COVID-19)pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS,the designation of these funds shall be made in accordance with the <br /> Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Public Law 116-136, and <br /> meet the following criteria: <br /> • are necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency with respect <br /> to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) <br /> • were not accounted for in the budget most recently approved as of March 27, 2020 <br /> (the date of enactment of the CARES Act) for the State or government; and <br /> • were incurred during the period that begins on March 1, 2020, and ends on <br /> December 30, 2020; and <br /> WHEREAS,these funds shall be designated by the Hawai`i County Council by <br /> September 30, 2020 and expended before December 30, 2020; and <br />
