-',SYOs1,,. � i COUNTY OF HAWAII -f.AV, '"'�'� :* STATE OF HAWAII '.NI OF µ::;, RESOLUTION NO. 703 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KIK KA`EAIKAHELELANI, INC., FOR ITS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FEED KONA 2020. WHEREAS, KIK Ka`eaikahelelani, Inc., (KKI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and halau rooted in the foundation of aloha where students learn the Hawaiian culture through hula, language, music, land stewardship, and ancestral connection; and WHEREAS, KKI, along with community members, is coordinating Feed Kona 2020 to provide relief by distributing nutritious meals for children and kupuna in South Kona during the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, KKI is requesting funds to purchase food and the supplies associated with preparation and delivery of the free meals; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community through alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug- free activities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to KIK Ka`eaikahelelani, Inc., for its community service project Feed Kona 2020. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
