Hunt <br />Deputy Director <br />Re: Operating Budget <br />In the current Budget Ordinance 20-45, $55,000 is appropriated in the Police Department's Sex <br />Assault Nurse Coord account. Additional funds in the amount of $28,337 are being provided by <br />the State Department of the Attorney General to improve Hawaii County's response to violent <br />crimes against women through comprehensive medical and forensic services for victims of sexual <br />assault. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br />additional funds into the Hawaii County Police's Sex Assault Nurse Coord account, bringing the <br />total appropriation to $83,337. <br />The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed <br />on the September 16, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
