Chung And Members of the County Council , "daS •*M` County of Hawaii;- 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawaii 96720 RE: Appointments to the Pension Board Dear Chairman Chung and Council Members: It is my pleasure to appoint the following individuals to the Pension Board: Walter Lucas — A resident of Council District 2. Mr. Lucas retired from the County of Hawaii after more than forty years of service. He served as the Public Works Automotive Division Chief for 18 years prior to his retirement in 2003. Mr. Lucas is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and a Vietnam Veteran. He is an active member of his church community and has volunteered his time to other organizations. Mr. Lucas states he is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Lucas may serve a five year term to expire December 31, 2024. Carol Ann Marumoto — A resident of County District 3, Ms. Marumoto retired from the County of Hawaii in 2014 where she worked in the Support Services Department. Ms, Marumoto is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and states she is not a member of any political party.. If confirmed, Ms. Marumoto may serve a five year term to expire December 31, 2024. As there is a need of the Board, I respectfully request that these nominations be waived through Committee and be placed on the full Council agenda of October 7, 2020.
