REQUEST: <br />A resolution authorizing the award of grants through the Kilauea Recovery Grant Program to non-profit <br />organizations in amounts more than $25,000 per Article 47 Section 2-252(f) of the HCC; and the distribution <br />of those funds in the total amount of the awards being granted. See attached Exhibit A. <br />In transmitting the resolution, please -include a request for Council to consider suspending Rule No. 15 <br />(Reconsideration) of the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council should it vote in the affirmative, <br />in order to expedite the funding process. In order to expedite the award of these grants we request to waive <br />Finance Committee and have this resolution placed on the October 7, 2020, Council Meeting agenda. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)' <br />Pursuant to HCC Chapter 2, Article 47, Section 2-246 for the appropriation of disaster relief funds that the <br />County received, or may receive, for the purpose of providing relief, recovery, mitigation, and remediation <br />assistance for disaster damage, losses, and suffering caused by -the 2018 Kilauea eruption.
