JNtY os N..• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •• � STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ., tE OF NF's <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 745 20 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING <br /> ATTORNEY TO AWARD FUNDS TO THE YWCA <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code (2005 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of$25,000 <br /> to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br /> grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br /> or resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br /> profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax-exemption from the <br /> Internal Revenue Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has received federal funds <br /> through a Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YWCA, which qualifies as a nonprofit organization as defined <br /> above, will provide Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) exams, and therapeutic <br /> support to victims of sexual assault; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney wishes to provide $50,000 <br /> of these federal funds to the YWCA; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County <br />
