FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH FACTOR: AGE / GENDER <br />Age and gender were analyzed as potential factors for both drivers and victims involved in fatal <br />traffic crashes. It was found that the 20-24 year-old age group had the highest number of <br />fatalities and drivers associated with fatal traffic crashes on Hawaii Island (see Figures 16 and <br />17 respectively). In comparison to females, males were overwhelmingly more likely to be the <br />fatality or the driver involved in fatal crashes. Traffic crash fatalities by mode showed less of a <br />correlation for pedestrians, bicycles, or motorcycles/mopeds (see Figure 18). <br />FIGURE 16.
