Additional federally -derived funds in the amount of <br />$33,454.40 are being provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to fund <br />operations focused on seatbelt enforcement. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br />additional funds into the Hawaii County Police's Occupant Protection Program account, bringing <br />the total appropriation to $123,454.40. <br />The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed <br />on the October 21, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
