No. 1088/Bill No. 204 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 11:03 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 204, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 204, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 1088 <br /> dated September 18, 2020, amends Ordinance No. 20-44, as amended, relating to public improvements <br /> and financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. <br /> Bill No. 204 adds the Public Works Waika'alulu Bridge No. 44-8 project for$600,000 to the <br /> Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from General Obligation Bonds, Capital <br /> Projects Fund—Fund Balance and/or Other Sources. <br /> A motion to move Bill No. 204 to Council with a positive recommendation was made by Council <br /> Member Valerie T. Poindexter, and seconded by Council Member Susan L. K. Lee Loy. <br /> Public Works Deputy Director Allan Simeon addressed Your Committee, noting that the bridge is at <br /> Kalopa. He indicated that upon the approval of this bill, Public Works will then be able to start the <br /> procurement process for the design and construction to remove and replace the old bridge.
