No. 1078/Bill No. 201 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:36 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 201, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 201, introduced by Committee Chair Ashley L. Kierkiewicz by request, amends ordinance <br /> No. 05-113 which reclassifies land from Agriculture 5 Acres(A-5A)to Multi Family Residential RM-2.5 <br /> at Puapua'aiki 1st and Puapua'anui 1st North Kona, Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Key 7-5-017:019, the <br /> applicant is Suffolk Investment, LLC, Area 14.87 acres. <br /> The Leeward Planning Commission forwards its unfavorable recommendation for this amendment which <br /> will allow revisions or time extensions to 11 conditions to the existing change of zone ordinance. The <br /> property is located west(makai) of Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway and east(mauka) of Kuakini Highway <br /> and the Kahakai Estates Subdivision approximately 2,200 feet north of the Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway <br /> and Communication 1078.1 from Planning Director Michael Yee dated September 23, 2020 transmitting <br /> the draft transcripts from the Leeward Planning Commission's August 20, 2020 Leeward Planning <br /> Meeting. <br /> Committee Chair Kierkiewicz asked that similar to Bill No. 200, the applicant work in partnership with <br /> Ms. Villegas, herself, and the Planning Department to amend Bill No. 201 based on conditions that are <br /> articulated in Communication 1077.3 and any other compromise that may be made. <br /> The vote was taken on the motion to move this measure to Council with a positive recommendation and <br /> passed with nine "ayes." <br /> Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 201, and recommends <br /> its passage on first reading. <br /> Jb <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> CHUNG X <br /> DAVID X COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br /> EOFF X <br /> KANEALI`I-KLEINFELDER X <br /> KIERKIEWICZ X l <br /> LEE LOY X t <br /> POINDEXTER X ASHLEY L.
