-011.5".`..... • COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 758 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HONOKA`A HONGWANJI MISSION FOR ITS "FEEDING OUR KEIKI AND KUPUNA" PROGRAM TO HELP THOSE IN NEED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. WHEREAS, the Honoka`a Hongwanji Mission, a subordinate organization of Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawai`i, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps families in need through its feeding programs in Honoka`a; and WHEREAS, the Honoka`a Hongwanji Mission's "Feeding Our Keiki and Kupuna" program provides hot meals, produce, and groceries once a week for children, the elderly, and families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, the Honoka`a Hongwanji Mission has requested financial assistance to purchase food, paper goods, and other related cooking supplies that are needed for the preparation and distribution of heathy meals, produce, and groceries to the Honoka`a community; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project as it falls within its mission to enhance the standard of living for residents and the economic viability of businesses in Hawai`i County; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Honoka`a Hongwanji Mission for expenses associated with its "Feeding Our Keiki and Kupuna"program to help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
