COUNTY OF HAWAII •� '=- • <br /> # STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • TE OFµAQ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 760 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII CARE <br /> CHOICES TO CREATE A POHAI MALAMA CARE CENTER BROCHURE. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo, doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices, is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization providing palliative, hospice, and bereavement care with a mission to <br /> improve the lives of those touched by illness or grief by offering support, guidance, and <br /> compassionate care of the body, mind, and spirit; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Care Choices' inpatient facility, Pohai Malama Care Center, <br /> provides a royal experience of grace, comfort, and dignity to individuals near the end of life, and <br /> during this COVID-19 pandemic, many families are requesting more information on end-of-life <br /> choices; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Care Choices seeks to raise community awareness and education <br /> on end-of-life choices and is requesting funds to create an informational brochure for Pohai <br /> Malama Care Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free <br /> programs that enrich the lives of community members; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Care Choices to create a Pohai Malama Care Center <br /> brochure. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
