tiV OF N,'• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII a.:...6'k t,".'�%_.1 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> , <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 769 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO TO <br /> ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH <br /> EFFORTS. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo, doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices, is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that provides medical, social and spiritual services for terminally ill <br /> patients at end of life as well as providing support to their families and caregivers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo provides short-term, transitional care at Pohai Malama <br /> Care Center, which supports exceptional experience of grace, comfort, and dignity to individuals <br /> near the end of life; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the pandemic many families requested more information on end of <br /> life choices; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo will create a POhai Malama Care Center Brochure to raise <br /> awareness and education of end of life choices; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is requesting funds to cover expenses for printing, <br /> photography, and graphic design for its community outreach efforts; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Aging supports organizations that provide services for the <br /> community and those in need of end-of-life care; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br /> provide a grant to Hospice of Hilo to assist with expenses for its community outreach efforts. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
