RESOLUTION NO. 772 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAHOA LAVA ZONE MUSEUM FOR ITS PAHOA HOLIDAY EVENTS PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Pahoa Lava Zone Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to make Puna a safe and strong community with a sustainable economy; and WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the community is seeking alternatives to traditional holiday events that will prioritize health and safety by following the recommendations and mandates established by the County of Hawai`i and State of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, the Pahoa Lava Zone Museum is partnering with Mainstreet Pahoa Association to promote and manage its Pahoa Holiday Events Project, a series of family-friendly, drug-free, and alcohol-free holiday events to uplift the community; and WHEREAS, the Pahoa Lava Zone Museum is requesting funding for advertising, food, security, decorations, and other associated costs related to its Pahoa Holiday Events Project; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide safe, drug-free, and alcohol-free events that enrich the lives of community members and enhance the well-being of Hawai`i Island residents; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Pahoa Lava Zone Museum for its Pahoa Holiday Events Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
