No. 766-20 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 11:03 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 766-20, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 766-20, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 1135 <br /> dated October 19, 2020, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the <br /> University of Hawai`i. <br /> Resolution No. 766-20 provides that funds in the amount of$20,207 would be provided to the <br /> University of Hawai`i for its Examining Korean Natural Farming in Anthuriums: A Systems <br /> Approach project. Funds would be used toward labor for data collection, analyses, travel to <br /> experiment sites, purchase of supplies, and publication costs. <br /> A motion to move Resolution No. 766-20 to Council with a positive recommendation was <br /> made by Council Member Herbert M. "Tim" Richards, III, and seconded by Council Member <br /> Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder. <br /> Council Chair Aaron S. Y. Chung shared that the County of Hawai`i is a sister-city with Gokseong, <br /> South Korea, where the Korean Natural Farming process was created.
