- <br /> ,..,t,'",17," <br /> �tY OF k,- . <br /> 1 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII �* i S,A/, •* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 782 20 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br /> (ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII <br /> (DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL PURSUANT TO <br /> HRS 46-7, FOR A GRANT TO THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING <br /> ATTORNEY <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into an agreement to <br /> with the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General; and <br /> WHEREAS, this agreement is to receive federally derived funds from the <br /> State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General to prepare for, prevent the <br /> spread of and respond to the coronavirus pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used by the Office of the Prosecuting <br /> Attorney to contract an employee to develop a process to address the backlog of <br /> defendants flowing through the courts, purchase various supplies and equipment <br /> to implement social distancing and promote health and safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br /> federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br /> powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the <br /> County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County an agreement, <br />
