COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLCJTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII is 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KUPA FRIENDS OF HO`OKENA BEACH PARD FOR ITS MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE PROJECT. WHEREAS, KUPA Friends of Ho`okena Beach Park (KUPA FOHBP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on preserving the cultural and natural resources as well as the culturally -sensitive economic development of Ho`okena Beach Park; and WHEREAS, Ho`okena Beach Park is a County facility, and KUPA FOHBP signed an agreement with the County of Hawaii in 2007 to co -manage and maintain this park; and WHEREAS, KUPA FOHBP provides information and directives, online camping permits, ocean activities and programs, beach patrol, grounds cleanup, and park maintenance; and WHEREAS, KUPA FOHBP is requesting financial assistance to purchase miscellaneous materials and supplies to ensure proper management and maintenance of Ho`okena Beach Park that follows COVID- 19 health and safety regulations; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports KUPA FOHBP and its continued efforts to provide a safe and clean beach park and camping facility for Hawaii Island residents and visitors to enjoy; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District b will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to KUPA Friends of Ho`okena Beach Park for its management and maintenance project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below.
