COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAPI <br />IS 20 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br />DONATION OF TRAINING AND MISCELLANEOUS SUPPLIES TO <br />THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island K9 Association is donating training and <br />miscellaneous supplies to the County of Hawaii Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the training and supplies, consisting of seven (7) trauma aid kits, seven <br />(7) Narcan Nasal kits, and various other supplies (K9 toys, bones, training aids, etc.) valued at <br />approximately $2,000, will be used by the Police Department's Canine Units; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai'i County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, . in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />Hawaii, accepts this donation. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this <br />resolution be sent to Tammy Passmore, Board Chair, Hawaii Island K9 Association, P.O. <br />Box 6667, Hilo, HI 96720, acknowledging this generous donation. <br />
