Sako as Finance Director for the County of Hawaii Finance Department, pursuant to Section 6-6.2 of the Hawaii County Charter. This appointment was effective at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 7, 2020. Ms. Sako has been the Finance Director of Hawaii County since 2017. She started at the County of Hawaii as an Accountant for the Department of Parks and Recreation before later moving over to the Finance Department as a Controller and later Deputy Finance Director. Prior to working for the County of Hawaii, Ms. Sako spent 12 years of her career as an auditor for various government entities, including the County of Hawai `i. Ms. Sako will serve a term co -terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 2, 2024. Pursuant to Rule 5(6) (g) of the Rules of Procedures and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawaii, we respectfully request a waiver of nomination through committee so that it may be considered by the full County Council on December 23, 2020.
