Rodenhurst as <br />Director for the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works, pursuant to Section 6-2.2 of the <br />Hawaii County Charter. This appointment was effective at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 7, <br />2020. <br />Mr. Rodenhurst has worked in the private sector as a civil engineer at Bowers + Kubota Consulting <br />since 2011, where he was responsible for overseeing multiple projects involving collaboration <br />between contractors and various government agencies to implement necessary improvements <br />to public roads, highways, and schools. In his role as a Project Engineer, Ikaika oversaw projects <br />such as the Waipio Point Access Road Improvements Project and Boulevard Improvements <br />Project on Oahu and emergency projects on the island of Hawaii, which included lava and <br />hurricane road recovery. <br />Mr. Rodenhurst will serve a term co -terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 2, 2024. <br />Pursuant to Rule 5(6) (g) of the Rules of Procedures and Organization of the Council of the County <br />of Hawaii, we respectfully request a waiver of nomination through committee so that it may be <br />considered by the full County Council on December 23, 2020. <br />Thank you for your favorable consideration of this appointment.
