COUNTY OF HAWAI `I RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 27 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE COOPER CENTER COUNCIL FOR ITS KEIKI CARE PACKS PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that oversees the Cooper Center located in Volcano Village and whose mission is to bring the community together into a cohesive group through shared activities and projects; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council serves various communities in Volcano Village and surrounding areas by providing a venue for meetings, community events, weekly farmers' market, monthly food distribution, and the Volunteer Company 19 -Alpha Fire Station; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council, along with community members, is coordinating a Keiki Care Packs project at Cooper Center to provide non-perishable food, snacks, activities, arts, crafts, and miscellaneous items for 500 students in kindergarten through eighth grade; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is requesting funds to purchase food, supplies, materials, and other miscellaneous items for the Keiki Care Packs project; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports organizations and programs that provide services and opportunities that meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council to assist with its Keiki Care Packs project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
