Prior to his work in the private sector, he spent nearly fifteen <br />years in the County of Hawaii Planning Department, where he served as Deputy Planning <br />Director (1974-1976) and Planning Director (1977-1984). <br />Mr. Fuke is a respected member of the community involved in numerous organizations including <br />Hospice of Hilo, Hawai'i Health Care Systems, Easter Seals, JCCI, and Na Leo `O Hawaii. He <br />is a former member of the Liquor Commission and the Liquor Control Adjudication Board. <br />Mr. Fuke is a graduate of Hilo High, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and received a <br />master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois. He is an active member of the <br />Democratic Party. If confirmed, Mr. Fuke will serve a 5 -year term to end December 2025. <br />Should you have any questions, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
