REQUEST: <br />2/04/2021 <br />961-8513 <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for two (2) Class IV sized 4x4 <br />Pickup trucks for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management Wastewater <br />Division. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION JUSE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />The Wastewater Division is requesting to lease finance two (2) Class IV size 4x4 Pickup trucks for <br />respaiding to island wide maintenance and emergency actions for the Division's island -wide wastewater <br />facilities. The Division has very limited trucks that can transport four crew members plus supplies, <br />equipment, and portable trailers equipec with pumps/jetters all with one vehicle. Our current fleet of trucks <br />have very limited towing capabilities. Performing work in Kau (Pahala and Naalehu) and Honoka'a requires <br />multiple vehicles to transport equipment and supplies. These trucks also provide the capability to tow the <br />backup portable generators to pump staJons and WVVTPs when emergencies arise. <br />The p:archase price is estimated at $255,000.00 total. The estimated monthly lease payment is $4,600 for <br />both vehicles. This equipment will be lease financed such that the County will own the equipment at the end <br />of the five year lease. <br />Funding for these Class IV trucks were riot included in the FY20-21 budget.
