COUNTY OF HAWAI `I RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 57 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE FUTURE FOR ITS EMERGENCY "GRAB AND GO" COMMUNITY FEEDING PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions harmony and balance among the diverse people of Hawaii and encourages each person to contribute their deepest values, create shared visions, and continuously improve their communities; and WHEREAS, in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic, Friends of the Future has established an emergency "Grab and Go" community feeding program for the vulnerable populations in Waimea; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is collaborating with local, certified restaurants to provide prepared meals for its emergency "Grab and Go" community feeding program; and WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is requesting funds for expenses related to its emergency "Grab and Go" community feeding program, including purchases for food and supplies required for meal preparation, serving, distribution, and cleanup; and WHEREAS, this project falls within the Department of Research and Development's mission to support the development of a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance with Hawai`i's ecology, community character, and cultural heritage; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for its emergency "Grab and Go" community feeding program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
