Lord, dated January 27, 2021, <br /> submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the appointment of Wesley I. Mattos of <br /> Council District 7 to the Fire Commission. <br /> Executive Assistant Pomaika`i Bartolome was present at Council Chambers in Hilo and <br /> introduced the nominee who also appeared in person. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of the nominee's appointment. Chair Inaba stated <br /> that the nominee would not have to appear in person at Council for confirmation. <br /> Pursuant to Sections 7-4.5 and 13-4 of the Hawai`i County Charter, members of the Fire <br /> Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council. <br /> Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent <br /> of Communication No. 113 and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Wesley I.
