Roth, dated February 23, 2021, <br /> submits for the Council's review and confirmation the nomination of Elyse Robinson of Council <br /> District 2 to the Environmental Management Commission. A motion to move Communication <br /> No. 166,to full Council with a positive recommendation was made by Council Member Ashley <br /> Kierkiewicz; seconded by Council Member Heather Kimball. <br /> Introduced by Pomaika`i Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, Elyse <br /> Robinson is a 35-year resident of Hawai`i, a member of the Zonta Club of Hilo, and the Japanese <br /> Chamber of Commerce. With a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Ms. Robinson is a financial <br /> advisor for Edward Jones. If confirmed, Ms. Robinson will serve a term ending December 31, <br /> 2025. <br /> Nominee Robinson addressed Your Committee noting how an economics background—which is <br /> a study on how people use resources—assists in addressing environmental sustainability. <br /> Council Members echoed nominee Robinson's qualities as brilliant, humble, and one with an <br /> incredible vision for a sustainable Hawai`i.
