STATE OF HAWAII A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PATH FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF SHIPPING EXPENSES FOR ADA -COMPLIANT BENCHES FOR THE WAIMEA COMMUNITY. WHEREAS, PATH - Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 1986, with the mission to connect people and places on Hawaii Island with pathways and bikeways; and WHEREAS, PATH worked with Blue Zones Project, Parker Ranch, and the community in identifying how ADA -compliant benches would benefit residents and visitors within the Waimea area; and WHEREAS, PATH is requesting funds for a reimbursement of expenses for the shipment of twelve ADA -compliant benches for the Waimea community; and WHEREAS, this project falls within the Department of Public Work's mission in working together to improve the quality of service for the health and safety of our island community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Public Works to provide a grant to PATH to reimburse shipping expenses for twelve ADA - compliant benches for the Waimea community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
