JCtV OF NyY' <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII •' STATE OF HAWAII <br />ATF OFM' <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11.44 21L <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ORCHIDLAND <br />NEIGHBORS FOR ITS FOOD BASKET DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br />is to meet the needs of Orchidland and neighboring communities by providing educational, <br />health, recreational, and agricultural opportunities, as well as emergency response in crisis <br />situations; and <br />WHEREAS, COVID-19 has severely impacted the County of Hawaii, with many <br />households experiencing food insecurity; and <br />WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors is requesting funds for its monthly Food Basket <br />Distribution program to enhance the availability of supplies, food, and grocery items; and <br />WHEREAS, this program falls within the mission of the Department of Research and <br />Development to enhance the standard of living and economic viability of businesses in the <br />County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to Orchidland Neighbors for its monthly Food <br />Basket Distribution program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
