COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 119 21 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ALOHA CLUB OF <br />HILO TO PURCHASE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR HALE `OLUEA CLUBHOUSE. <br />WHEREAS, the Hale `Oluea Clubhouse ("Clubhouse") is a voluntary, psychosocial <br />rehabilitation program for adults with mental health disabilities in East Hawaii, and is also a <br />branch of Clubhouse International which has 300 clubhouses in 30 countries; and <br />WHEREAS, the Clubhouse has a unique rehabilitation format where participants are <br />"members" rather than. clients, and they work with staff to foster participation through self- <br />determination; and <br />WHEREAS, the Aloha Club of Hilo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises <br />funds for the Clubhouse and provides training for staff and volunteers as well as vocational and <br />educational programs for Clubhouse members; and <br />WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Clubhouse has increased its online <br />video trainings to maintain its services and programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Aloha Club of Hilo has requested funds for the purchase of computer <br />equipment to accommodate the increase of online video trainings for Clubhouse members; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br />drug-free and alcohol -.free activities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Aloha Club of Hilo to purchase computer equipment for <br />Hale `Oluea Clubhouse. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
