COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br />YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL <br />PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other <br />obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one <br />fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control will be vacating the West Hawaii Civic Center <br />and desires to lease approximately 2,162 square feet of office space situated at Hanama Place, in <br />Kailua-Kona, County and State of Hawaii, from Puna Plantation Hawaii, Limited ("Landlord"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control desires to enter into a multi-year lease <br />agreement that is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2021, for four (4) years and eleven (11) months, <br />with the option to extend the lease for an additional four (4) years and eleven (11) months with <br />Landlord; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control is requesting authorization for the Mayor to <br />enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for office space; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that pursuant <br />to section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a four (4) <br />year and eleven (11) month lease agreement with an option for extension for the Department of Liquor <br />Control Kona office as indicated above. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to <br />cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the Lease. <br />
