COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF MEMBERS TO THE <br />NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE <br />WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii County is a member of the Hawaii State Association of Counties <br />(HSAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region <br />(WIR); and <br />WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee, on May 13, 2021, approved nominees for <br />the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors for the respective terms beginning <br />July 1, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve the <br />nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Tommy Waters and KipuKai Kuali`i are approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors for <br />the term beginning July 1, 2021. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Herbert M. "Tim" Richards and Kelly T. King are <br />approved to serve on the WIR Board of Directors for the term beginning July 1, 2021. <br />
