COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />J�tV OF M��1 <br />cP•y •�� <br />'ire o►.H►•.d <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KONA COFFEE <br />FESTIVAL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS 501h KONA COFFEE <br />CULTURAL FESTIVAL IN 2021. <br />WHEREAS, the Kona Coffee Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives <br />to preserve, perpetuate, and promote Kona's coffee heritage; and <br />WHEREAS, 2021 memorializes the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival's 50th Anniversary, <br />which will honor and pay tribute to nearly two hundred years of Kona Coffee heritage and <br />recognize the accomplishments of Kona Coffee farmers and pioneers; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2021 Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, scheduled for November 4th <br />through 7th, will bring people together for in-person events, and due to the restrictions of the <br />COVID-19 pandemic, will also feature online virtual program experiences to engage the broader <br />community; and , <br />WHEREAS, Kona Coffee Festival is requesting funds to pay for commemorative <br />t -shirts, buttons, and cookbooks, as well as other supplies or equipment associated with the <br />festival; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br />and youth programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol -free environment, <br />such as the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kona Coffee Festival for expenses related to its 501h Kona <br />Coffee Cultural Festival in 2021. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
