BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED) <br /> On Jure 1`0, 2021, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)notified the Countyof <br /> Hawsi'i (County)that it has been awarded funding as authorized by the American Rescue Plan, The County <br /> will receive an allocation of 110 Hsg Choice Emergency Housing Voucher Program vouchers along with <br /> $1,000,000 of funding. <br /> The Hsg Choice Emergency Housing Vouchers provide assistance to eligible households that meet one of <br /> four eligibility categories; homeless, at risk of homelessness; fleeing,or attempting to flee,domestic violence, <br /> dating violence, sexual dssaulty, stalling, or human trafficking, and recently homeless, <br /> The increase in appropriation reflects the new allocation to be received from HUD for the 12-month period <br /> starting July 1, 20121 for the Emergency Housing Voucher Program.
