This appropriation reflects funding <br /> allocations received from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations for the <br /> Program Year(PY) 2021. <br /> The Department of Research and Development indicates that the funds will be utilized to <br /> assist adults, dislocated workers and youth by providing services that will train <br /> individuals to increase employment, retention, earnings, skills and literacy. This will <br /> improve the quality of the workforce, reducing welfare dependency and enhancing the <br /> productivity and competitiveness of the local economy. <br /> The Department of Research and Development respectfully requests that a breach be <br /> authorized to submit this resolution and bill after the July 1, 2021 submission deadline, <br /> and to waive them from the Finance Committee and be placed on the July 21, 2021 <br /> Council agenda to expedite the receipt of these funds.
