JNtV OF COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is a 5 01 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that oversees the Cooper Center located in Volcano Village and whose mission is to bring the community together into a cohesive group through shared activities and projects; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council serves various communities in Volcano Village and the surrounding areas by lending out miscellaneous supplies and used medical equipment donated by the community for those in need; and WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is requesting funds to purchase a 10 -foot storage container to house the miscellaneous supplies and used medical equipment; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports programs and groups that provide services and opportunities that meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council for the purchase of a 10 -foot storage container. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
