V Of COUNTY OF AW II STATE OF HAWAIII RESOLUTION NO. :172 2.1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM PRINCE KUHIO PLAZA, LLC, FOR THE USE OF RETAIL SPACE TO THE COUNT OF HAWAVI I WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii ("County") seeks to conduct vaccination events to support and enhance the public health and welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, Prince Kuhio Plaza, LLC, ("Prince Kuhio Plaza") is a retail shopping center located at 111 East Puainako Street, Hilo, Hawaii; and WHEREAS, Prince Kuhio Plaza supports the County's efforts to provide vaccination events for the public; and WHEREAS, on April 26, 2021, Prince Kuhio Plaza entered into a Vaccination Site Agreement with the County to allow the use of retail space at the Prince Kuhio Plaza shopping center for vaccination events until July 31, 2021; and WHEREAS, Prince Kuhio Plaza has waived the rental fees for the use of the retail space-, and WHEREAS, Prince Kuhio Plaza's waiver of rental fees is a donation to the County; and WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estates, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
