STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER <br />FISCAL YEAR AND • MORE THAN • FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI- <br />YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAVI EMPLOYEES' <br />RETIREMENT SYSTEM (ERS) <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Finance wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement <br />for three (3) years with the State of Hawai'i Employees' Retirement System (ERS); and <br />WHEREAS, the agreement will allow the County to obtain information that will be <br />provided by the ERS actuary which will be needed for the County's financial statements; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or <br />other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or <br />of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or <br />state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by <br />law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with <br />projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I: <br />1. In accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes and Section 10-11 of the <br />County Charter, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on <br />behalf of the County, a six (6) year agreement, and related documents with the ERS <br />to allow the County to obtain information from the ERS as specified above. <br />2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated <br />obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. <br />
