S®LU'T'ION NO. :197 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NORTH KOALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATING TO THE PURCHASE OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR STUDENTS ATTENDING KOHALA MIDDLE SCHOOL. WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the number of successful community projects that benefit North Kohala through education, training, and bridges to funding, and has currently supported over 75 community projects; and WHEREAS, the Kohala `Ohara Support and Wellness Initiative assists families by purchasing and donating school supplies for students attending Kohala Elementary, Kohala Middle, and Kohala High Schools; and WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center has recently collaborated with the Kohala `Ohana Support and Wellness Initiative to provide school supplies for students attending Kohala Middle School, which currently serves 153 students; and WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funds as a reimbursement of expenses relating to the purchase of school supplies for Kohala Middle School students; and WHEREAS,this project falls within the Department of Research and Development's mission to support community programs that balance economic, social, and community priorities in Hawaii County; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center for reimbursement of expenses relating to the purchase of school supplies for students attending Kohala Middle School. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
