REQUEST: <br /> Requesting bill for an Ordinance to amend ther Operating Budget 21-38 and create an expenditure account <br /> and appropriate $75,000 in federal funds with an associated revenue account. <br /> Requesting a waiver from the Finance Committee and that the bill be placed on the next Council meeting <br /> agenda. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)• <br /> Resolution 156-19, approved on May 8, 2019, authorized the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement <br /> with the Department of Defense, State of Hawaii, pursuant to HRS 46-7, for a grant to the County for the <br /> "Integration of Climate Change Adaptation Plan into the 5-year update of the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan to <br /> identify climate change impacts and develop mitigation measures, action priorities, and an implementation <br /> plan. <br /> The grant(HMGP DR-4366-06-13P)was approved on June 28, 2021. The total project cost is $100,000 <br /> with $75,000 Federal share with a County match of$25,000. <br /> The project will identify climate change impacts and develop mitigation measures, action priorities, and an <br /> implementation plan. Work will include stakeholder engagement, a multi- hazard assessment, a climate <br /> change and multi- hazard mitigation risk/vulnerability/capability assessment, a feasibility analysis of <br /> mitigation and resilience strategies and a monitoring and evaluation framework. <br /> SIGNED: DATE: 9/2-7,/ 2,1_ <br /> Department Head <br />
