V OF <br /> COUNTY OF HAWA.111 STATE OF HAWAPI <br /> a" <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 222 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. <br /> SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE WATER HOSE <br /> ATTACHMENTS FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 5©1(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization dedicated to providing essential equipment and training to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department to help save lives; and. <br /> WHEREAS, since its inception in 1997, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has <br /> raised millions of dollars in donations to enhance the Hawaii Fire Department, which is vital to <br /> its rescue and fire-fighting operations; and <br /> WHERE+AS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to offset <br /> costs to purchase water hose attachments for the Hawaii Fire Department to enhance fire service <br /> to the island community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii recognizes the efforts of the Daniel R. Sayre <br /> Memorial Foundation to raise funds for the Hawaii Fire Department, and is grateful for the <br /> generous donations that have made a tremendous impact on the safety and quality of life for <br /> Hawaii Island residents and visitors; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department mission is to provide exceptional, all hazards <br /> emergency services to the residents and visitors of Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> DE IT RE,SOL,VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council .District 9 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase water <br /> hose attachments for the Hawaii Fire Department. <br /> DE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
