1 <br /> I <br /> JMZY'.®i?ty�. <br /> UQ'L� :tii <br /> -- I <br /> •t.pt, Off•'`` 3 <br /> ,TpO•F•HA� <br /> I <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAPI <br /> I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 224 ZI <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NORTH KOHALA <br /> COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE <br /> RENOVATION OF THE KAPA`AU VETERANS WALL OF HONOR IN NORTH <br /> KOHALA. <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the number of successful community <br /> projects that benefit North Kohala through education, training, and bridges to funding, and has <br /> currently supported over 75 community projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala National Guard Alumni Club, a group of National Guard <br /> alumni and veterans from all military branches, conducts ceremonies to honor all veterans and <br /> maintains the community's military monuments, including the Kapa`au Veterans Wall of Honor <br /> that commemorates North Kohala veterans; and <br /> WHEREAS, the NKCRC is collaborating with the North Kohala National Guard Alumni <br /> Club to renovate the Kapa`au Veterans Wall of Honor and is requesting funds to improve <br /> signage and revitalize the area for future ceremonies honoring veterans of all branches of the <br /> military; and <br /> WHEREAS,this project falls within the Department of Parks and Recreation's mission <br /> to promote, perpetuate, and encourage activities and programs in culture, art, history, and <br /> humanities; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center for <br /> expenses relating to the renovation of the Kapa`au Veterans Wall of Honor in North Kohala. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
