Additional funds <br /> in the amount of$147,637 for a total award of$197,637 are being provided by the United <br /> States Department of Agriculture to provide training and equipment to the Hawaii <br /> County Fire Department. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by increasing the <br /> appropriation of the Hawaii County Fire Department's Volunteer Fire Assist-Fed <br /> account by $107,637, bringing the total appropriation to $197,637. <br /> The Fire Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be <br /> placed on the October 20, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these <br /> funds.
