STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> T wnµµ <br /> �rE°OF°N►"� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 250 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HO`OLA VETERAN <br /> SERVICES FOR ITS HAWAII FARM-TO-CAR PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Ho`61a Veteran Services (dba Ho`ola Farms) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that provides agricultural training, hands-on educational opportunities, and therapy <br /> options for veterans, their families, and communities with hopes of creating a more sustainable <br /> future and well-being for all; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ho`ola Veteran Services' Hawaii Farm-to-Car program helps farmers and <br /> producers on Hawaii Island to sell their products directly to local consumers through an online <br /> farmers market with a weekly, curbside pickup at Puna Hongwanji Mission; and <br /> WHEREAS, shopping virtually on Hawaii Farm-to-Car is an innovative and convenient <br /> way for farmers,producers, and residents to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ho`ola Veteran Services is requesting funds to help cover continued <br /> operational expenses such as site location fee, grocery bag holders, ice packs, signage, and <br /> supplies for its Hawaii Farm-to-Car program; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development's mission is to support the <br /> development of a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance with Hawai`i`s ecology, <br /> community, and culture; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Ho`61a Veteran Services for its Hawaii Farm- <br /> to-Car program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
