JMtV 0 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 255 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF <br /> KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INC., TO ASSIST THE KONAWAENA HIGH <br /> SCHOOL LEO CLUB WITH ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS,the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc., (LCKCFI) is a <br /> 5 01(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service <br /> projects and activities that meet the needs of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the LCKCFI has developed a partnership with the Kona Soil and Water <br /> Conservation District and the Konawaena High School LEO Club to inform the community on <br /> the fragility of our Kona landscape and what the public needs to do to protect our land for future <br /> generations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the LCKCFI is requesting funds for expenses to develop educational <br /> materials, resource booklets,posters, and mailing packets to address land degradation and soil <br /> depletion in West Hawaii district; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development strives to increase <br /> communication, interaction, and understanding between residents and the agricultural industry to <br /> ensure the integrity of Hawaii unique sense of place; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Found Inc., <br /> to assist the Konawaena High School Leo Club with its community outreach project. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below <br />
