COUNTY OF 9 <br /> low <br /> Yoorocfamatkw <br /> WHEREAS the mission at One Mom's Battle (OMB) and the Family Court <br /> Awareness Month Committee (FCAMC) is to increase awareness on the <br /> importance of a family court system that prioritizes child safety and that acts in <br /> the best interest of children; and <br /> WHEREAS the mission at the FCAMC is to increase awareness on the <br /> importance of education and training on domestic violence, childhood trauma, <br /> and post separation abuse for all professionals working within the family court <br /> system; and <br /> WHEREAS the mission of FCAMC is to educate judges and other family <br /> court professionals on the empirical data and research that is currently <br /> available, said research being a critical component to making decisions that are <br /> truly in the best interest of children. This research includes Adverse Childhood <br /> Experiences (ACE) Study (CDC-Kaiser Permanente), Saunders Study (U.S. <br /> Department of Justice), the Meier Study and the Santa Clara Law Study; and <br /> WHEREAS the mission of the FCWMC is fueled by the desire for <br /> awareness and change in the family court system, stressing the importance for <br /> family court professionals to be educated on post-separation abuse to prioritize <br /> child safety, while honoring the 100+ children in the United States who have <br /> been murdered by a parent after a custody court rejected a plea for protection. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, MITCHELL D. ROTH, Mayor of the County of <br /> Hawai'i, do hereby proclaim the month of November 2021, as <br /> FAMILY COURT AWARENESS MONTH <br /> in the County of Hawai'i and encourage our citizens to support organizations <br /> and individuals who act as advocates and allies within the family court system, <br /> and who are proponents for continued awareness and informed education <br /> among family court professionals. <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused The Seal <br /> of the County of Hawaii to be affixed Done this P' day of November 2021, in <br /> Hilo, Hawai'i <br /> MITCHELL D.
